The Journey of Creating Space

"Creating space began in Gisborne when I wanted to bring awareness to how many people we could feed with one fish. My intention was to highlight the overfishing from commercial fishermen. I speared, prepared and turned 1 kingfish into 25 portions. I set up a bbq in a park and fed 20 people. Some coming back for seconds.

This was the moment I felt I truly experienced love for the first time. It was in the exchange of giving without expecting to receive.

From this moment Creating Space evolved and transformed. I wanted others to experience the same feeling I did that day. So It evolved into a community event and I invited others who were keen to share their gifts too. Soon there were 4 zones which represented the 4 major environments: Tinana (body) - Moana (ocean) - Ngahere (forest) - Whare (home).

It was zero waste, totally voluntary and free. I would select public locations with the heaviest foot traffic, so that a lot of the interactions and attendees were completely organic. This, to me, represented intuitive guidance and those who were meant to come and have the experience, would.

Some layers of intention that was weaved into the journey was me wanting to connect with my tribe (likeminded people). I realized it was faster for them to find me rather than the other way around. I just had to step outside my comfort zone, show up and speak my truth.

Gradually we began to form a tribe and many of the same people supported in co-creating space all around Aotearoa. Creating Space continued to fine tune and expand, soon evolving into the creation of villages before the event to practice what we were sharing with the community. Over 5 years I had visited 12 locations. With thousands of people attending around NZ.

The goal was to assist in the evolution of collective consciousness and so a single day was chosen to co-create space with all locations on the same day at the same time.  After another 12 week journey around NZ with a team of awesome content creators we organized and held Creating Space Aotearoa on the 28 January 2023."

What is happening with Creating Space moving forward?

"Creating Space is transitioning into a blend of online and in person community and events. For us to come together and support each other. We believe true strength comes from unity.

We created this new online space, a Community Directory, to connect people with resources and find what they need to improve their life and become more self-sustainable. Where beautiful beings can share and advertise their unique service, product or business for free or with a pricing plan that suits their goal the most.

We are going to utilize the power of financial energy to transform and grow. 10% of our profits will go towards supporting future Creating Space community events."
